Love at First Sight

Built in traditional German mountain lodge style and surrounded by the soaring peaks of the Bavarian Alps, Hotel das Rübezahl is in the heart of some of Europe’s most glorious scenery. Natural materials such as stone, leather or wood create a special cozy atmosphere and are presented in combination with modern living elements such as illuminated glass walls or sparkling Swarovski stones. All of our rooms and design suites are decorated and furnished in a luxurious style and offering a welcome drink and fresh fruit. All the rooms have WiFi, Flat-Tvs, safe, minibar, wellness bags, bathrobes, etc.

What to Do

The Spa area offers 5 different kind of saunas (finnish sauna, steam sauna, tepidarium, salt-grotto and a panoramic sauna), relax rooms, jaccuzzis and a heated outdoor pool with indoor access and view to the castles and the bavarian Alps. In the Beauty-Alm you will find a variety of pampering treatments including a selection of massages, facial treatments, baths and soft-packs. There is also a private-Spa room for couples with infrared cabin, a big round tub and stuffed place. Couples can be massaged there at the same time.

A special highlight is the mystical history of King Ludwig II. and the visit of the king's castle Neuschwanstein in Schwangau. The magnificent fairytale castle Neuschwanstein is one of the most visited castles in Europe and attract millions of visitors to Bavaria each year. In addition, the castle is known for Walt Disney Cinderella castle, which was inspired by this castle.

The region around the Bavarian alps is also known for its beautiful scenery and charming excursion destinations. In the summer months, the most beautiful lakes await you here for a romantic picnic, as well as cozy mountain chalets for a hike. Once a week, the hotel offers a guided hike to this point. For winter lovers a common snowshoe hike as well as a romantic carriage ride in the horse sled through the snowy winter landscape is an absolute highlight. The region around our hotel offers something for all romantic activities.

Just a few minutes of the hotel is the historic town of Füssen with its charming old town, lot of culture and excellent shopping. The village of Schwangau is very central located. You can make different day-trips to Munich (about 1 hour), to Innsbruck in Austria (about 1 1/2 hour), to Garmisch (about 45 minutes), etc. In just 10 minutes you will be at the border of Austria!

The Food of Love

The hotel’s restaurant Louis II. offers in the morning a great breakfast buffet with fresh fruits, german breads, cereals, pancakes, variation of eggs, fresh juices, sparkling wine, etc. Middays is lunch time with a regional food and a-la-carte Service. In the afternoon you can enjoy the homemade cakes, apple-strudel, coffee and teas. The evening is the highlight of the day. The chef cuisine and his team prepare delicious menues, thematic buffets or romantic Candlelight dinners. His style is regional food with modern touch and he is very creative. In the restaurant you will find different rooms, from rustic till modern or luxurious. We are sure that you will find a nice place, matching to your taste.
