In 1963, Mr Thomas Grealy, an entrepreneurial local businessman and the original patriarch of the hotel, purchased the 4-acre property located on private grounds and planted the seeds for the thriving business it is today. Today, his family continue the legacy taking the business into it’s 4th generation as one of Ireland's last few remaining family run hotels. The hotel is also a very popular wedding venue who have been proudly hosting weddings now for over 6 decades.
