The Romantic Tourist, a UK registered company, acting as an online marketplace and booking agent for the hotels/suppliers it books. We are not a travel agent and when you make a booking via The Romantic Tourist, you are entering into a direct contract with the hotel/supplier, not with The Romantic Tourist Ltd itself.
All payments online are made through secure servers and are fully PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, providing the highest level of confidentiality and payment security. For all bookings, The Romantic Tourist will take credit card details that are forwarded securely to the hotel/supplier to guarantee the booking. Upon providing your credit card details you are agreeing to the booking and cancellation policies of the booking.
You are responsible for reading the hotel/supplier booking conditions. Each hotel/supplier’s payment and cancellation policies are outlined in the booking information and may include a period before arrival when cancellations will be subject to the payment of a penalty. If you need to change or cancel your booking for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible in writing by contacting The Romantic Tourist and the hotel/supplier via your customer account. We will then review the cancellation policy, and confirm with you and the hotel/supplier that the change or cancellation has been processed.
Your booking is not confirmed until you receive a Final Confirmation from the hotel/supplier. In the event the hotel/supplier cannot confirm for your booking, for any reason whatsoever, they may offer you a suitable or better alternative. Any offer of an alternative booking will not be confirmed by the hotel / supplier, and your credit card details will not be forwarded, until the alternative offer has been accepted by the customer. Where any offer of availability is made by a hotel/supplier, the booking will be only be held for a limited period, as outlined by the hotel / supplier. We therefore advise customers to accept the offer as soon as possible in order to confirm the booking. You will then be notified by email and by direct message to your customer account to confirm if your booking has been successful. It is your responsibility to contact The Romantic Tourist if a confirmation email has not been received.
We do not accept responsibility for your direct dealings with the hotel/supplier (or any other service providers they may use), or the provision of their services once the introduction has been made. All hotels/suppliers featured on The Romantic Tourist are themselves responsible for providing you with the final quote and the terms and conditions of your booking. All prices displayed by The Romantic Tourist are given as a best possible guide but are not a guaranteed offer of rates. The Romantic Tourist cannot be held liable for errors or omissions in bookings or pricing, either made by the hotel / supplier, or as a result of system failure of any kind.
The Romantic Tourist takes the best possible care to ensure all hotel / supplier information is correct and accurate, however hotel / supplier services and facilities may change at any time and any opinions expressed are subjective.
You do not have to pay any deposit to The Romantic Tourist when you book. Dependant on the terms of the hotel /supplier you are booking with, and package or experience you are booking, the hotel / supplier may require you to pay a deposit(s) to them directly. The hotel / supplier will provide full details of any such deposits and when they are due. Deposits will only be refundable in accordance with the hotel / supplier’s terms and conditions.
Refunds will be made by the same method used to pay for the booking. Any payment made by credit card will be returned to the card that the payment was made from.
All currency conversions are based on data from openexchangerates.org and are only valid on the date of booking as a guideline. Payments are taken by hotels /suppliers in the hotel / supplier’s local currency and may be subject to exchange-rate fluctuations (depending on the date charged) and charges from your bank or credit card issuer for which we have no liability.
Because the contract for your booking directly is between you and the hotel/supplier, any queries or concerns should be addressed to them. If you have a problem during your trip, this must be reported to the hotel/supplier immediately. If you fail to follow this procedure there will be less opportunity for the hotel/supplier to investigate and rectify your complaint. The amount of compensation you may be entitled to from the hotel/supplier may be reduced or you may not receive any at all depending upon the circumstances. If you wish to complain when you return home, you should address your complaint to the Principal.
Bookings for all packages, offers or promotions are subject to the terms and conditions set by the hotel /supplier for its particular offer. All offers are on request and subject to availability which may change at any time. Offers may be subject to blackout dates which may be amended by the hotel / supplier at any time and which may not be specified on our website. Some hotels / suppliers will require a deposit or full prepayment on booking, which may be non-refundable in case of cancellation. Any special terms will be stated on the package policies and booking details and included in your confirmation. Hotel / supplier packages, offers and promotions (and any applicable terms and conditions) are frequently added or amended, and will therefore only apply to completely new bookings. Reservations made before the start of the offer or promotion cannot be cancelled and rebooked at the lower rate.
It is each customer’s own responsibility to ensure compliance with all immigration and legal requirements for their booking. Please check with the relevant embassy for information of visa, passport, wedding requirements. For vaccination information please check with your medical practitioner.
Whilst we make every effort to ensure that any taxes listed are correct, we accept no responsibility if taxes shown (whether included in quoted prices or excluded from quoted prices) are incorrect, or if they change between the time of booking request and the final booking confirmation, or between confirming a booking and the date of the trip, or at any other time. Please note: any applicable VAT/taxes may be subject to change at any time and will always be charged at the correct rate at the time of payment.
