Your Stay
6 Luxury and 2 Superior Suites are concealed among the brushwood around either side of the AM Lodge. Guests are escourted to their suites in the game viewers, Viano or golf carts as the units are set far apart from each other to guarantee privacy.
These luxury private retreats reflect the design ethos of AM Lodge, from the crescent-shaped construction to the colonnaded entrances. Large picture windows and folding doors along the front allow maximum light to enter, and the elevated thatch roofs add to the feeling of space, although these suites are by no means small. Each unit has a bedroom, separate lounge and oversized bathroom, all simply decorated with quality, contemporary furnishings in light, natural shades to complement the elements of wood, glass and stone. The lounge has a large flat-screen TV mounted to the wall, just where you want to be after the sun has set on a wintry day. The bathrooms are designed to be enjoyed and not just used, with enormous free-standing bathtubs that look out onto nature through a glass wall, and indoor and outdoor showers separated by double glass doors.
The bedroom and lounge of each suite opens up onto a private deck, with a pathway leading to your very own sala set upon a wooden pavilion hidden away among the trees. During your stay at AM Lodge, this is where you can retreat to for utter peace and relaxation, perhaps sipping on a gin and tonic around the open fire, or enjoying a beautifully-prepared meal under the stars. While all eight suites are equally luxurious, the Superior Suites also have their own private plunge pools, making them ideal for that extra-special occasion such as a honeymoon or milestone anniversary.

The Food of Love
The tranquil sight and sound of water greets visitors upon their arrival and flows languidly beneath a wooden walkway linking the reception at the entrance to the main public area, continuing at the outdoor dining area with seating submerged in cool water, perfect for immersing your feet on a hot summer’s day. Entire lengths of walls comprise of folding doors to invite nature in, and raised viewing decks sheltered by ancient trees provide the perfect spot for absorbing the unspoilt, hushed scenery. Numerous seating and dining areas are scattered along the timber decks, each one with its own appeal, be it overlooking the rim-flow pool or under outstretched limbs of trees, all in light, natural hues in harmony with the surroundings. Inside the arced main building, a vaulted thatched ceiling soars overhead, creating an open, airy space with comfy, contemporary lounge areas on either side of an immense free-standing fireplace at the heart of the room for those chilly Lowveld winter mornings and evenings. Tucked away in the eaves is a cosy reading alcove with sofas and armchairs, opening onto a veranda and the pristine bush beyond. A chic indoor dining area is located on the opposite end; the earthen design elements offset by a handful of glamourous showpieces such as the eye-catching light fittings. The act of sharing a meal with loved ones in an exceptional location, whether simply for nourishment or in celebration of a special occasion, is the essence of experiential travel, and to this end the chefs at AM Lodge strive to make each meal memorable, from the mouth-watering breakfast spreads to authentic African meals served around a crackling fire at the boma.
