Love at First Sight

Set on the edge of the Liwa Oasis in the Abu Dhabi region of the vast Rub'Al Khali, aka the Empty Quarter, the Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort offers the height of luxury in one of the world's most austere yet beautifully evocative landscapes, and the largest uninterrupted sand desert on the planet. The resort is a two-hour drive south of the city of Abu Dhabi and guests can either hire their own vehicle or arrange a limousine pick up service from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Romance

The romance of the desert is all around you at the Qasr al Sarab Desert Resort. Imposing dunes surround the resort in an endless vista and the sands change colour from burgundy to gold and orange throughout the day as the sun rises and falls. You can get married at the resort and there are a choice of venues including the Dune Terrace with palm trees and panoramic desert views, the authentic Bedouin open-air setting of Al Falaj and the magnificent Liwa Ballroom which can hold up to 200 guests. For an intimate ceremony with up to 10 people, you can get married in your villa and for a truly special touch, you can arrive at the ceremony on a camel.

Your Stay

Guestrooms and suites are decorated in Arabic style with jewelled silver and bronze chandeliers, opulent fabrics and natural timber, and all have balconies or terraces. Rooms come equipped with flatscreen TVs with DVD players, free wifi, air conditioning and Nespresso machines, and bathrooms have oversized round tubs and rain showers.

What to Do

The onsite spa offers beauty and massage treatments with the Couple’s Desert Romance Massage involving a lavender sea salt foot bath and scrub followed by a full body massage with frangipani oil. The resort has a fully equipped gym and there's a freeform infinity pool and a floodlit tennis court. Yoga sessions, archery and camel trekking are all available, and you can go hiking in the desert with a professional guide. Other activities include horse riding and falconry displays.

The Food of Love

Al Waha, which means 'The Oasis’, has live cooking stations and serves Middle Eastern and international dishes. Suhail is set on a rooftop terrace with stunning desert views and serves a grill menu specialising in steaks, while Ghadeer serves an Arabic and Mediterranean menu by the pool. Al Falaj is an open-air Bedouin style restaurant serving dishes like Omani lobster, lamb kofta and steak cooked on the grill.
