King Art Room Colapesce

Our storyteller now, with his eyes still shining with lost love, tells us about cola pescata. Fisherman, son of a fisherman but madly in love with the king's daughter to the point of accepting her challenge to go and collect her ring thrown into the most remote depths of the sea. He does not hesitate to dive into the deep abyss when first a fish and then a gorgonian show him the path between corals and caves. He finds the ring again but as he goes back up he sees one of the columns supporting the island about to give way. He has no hesitations, his love for his land is even stronger than carnal love. Colapesce, the fish is still there supporting with its shoulders one of the columns of the Trinacria island, today called Sicily where her beloved still watches the deepest seabed waiting for her to re-emerge. Rich in allegories and symbols, the art rooms unfold between a chandelier that represents the art of fishing and an installation in the shape of a fish, which leads to a proscenium that idealizes the first sea cave where our hero dives, guided by Blue bird, another surprising ceramic from Caltagirone, among debris, tree trunk bedside tables, specially sparse wooden bagioux, almost relics of the sea, within a decoration of seabeds with optical colors and fabrics that recall the sunset on the island. You enter the bathroom guided by the light of the moon, a chandelier of visual fullness which from the anteroom overlooks a window from which an installation of gorgonian and cement tiles which, over the decades have defied the corrosion of the salt, and between flows and showers with cascades of water you arrive at the slender but powerful column which almost opens its arms to support the island. ​
