Ecorkhotel’s green credentials couldn’t be more pristine. The hotel is built primarily from cork, an entirely natural material that also appears in the surrounding landscape, as though the hotel had grown from the earth. This is the first hotel in the world to use cork trees in this way. Fittingly, the hotel boasts a large, well-tended garden along with swimming pools both inside and outside that are heated using geothermal energy. From the Turkish baths to the generously proportioned rooms, the stunning olive-tree strewn landscape to the exquisite architecture, every detail of Ecorkhotel is to be admired and luxuriated in.

The 56 Ecorkhotel suites are cool, laidback and tremendously stylish. The décor is contemporary but comfortable, the ambiance sophisticated but welcoming. Air conditioning, flat screen TVs, private outdoor space and a sense of indulgence all come as standard.

Cardo is the name of Ecorkhotel bijou eatery, which sources many of its ingredient from the Alentejo region itself. Local flavours and traditional cooking techniques abound and the standard of eating is extremely high.
