Capitán Suizo is an environmentally conscious Four Star Beachfront Boutique Hotel (officially rated by the Costa Rican Tourism Board) that features 35 units set beneath native trees and nestled between rich, organically maintained gardens which home and attract a wide variety of wildlife.

Located in a privileged area outside of town, at the end of the bay and directly on the beach of Tamarindo, Capitán Suizo rests on one of the most popular and beautiful swimming beaches of the pacific coast in Costa Rica. The bay offers warm waters all year around. Adjacent to Las Baulas Marine National Park, it offers many activities to enjoy while keeping a charming ambience.

Your Stay

In each and every corner of Capitán Suizo one can observe the magnificent beauty of Costa Rica’s nature. Birds, howler monkeys, squirrels, gray and green iguanas, geckos, skunks, frogs and raccoons are some of the animals that can be seen almost daily throughout the hotel’s garden. With some luck, sometimes nocturnal wildlife such as porcupines, anteaters, armadillos and opossums can also be seen.

What to Do

One day tours to national parks and other protected areas, surf lessons, scuba diving, boat trips, sailing or catamaran trips at sunset, tours to the estuary, turtle nesting (during season), canopies, rafting and horseback riding.

Other outdoor activities available on your own:

Swimming, surfing, sea kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling, beach volleyball, pool table, tennis table, badminton, bocce. Also, a beautiful 18-hole golf course is just 20 minutes by car from the hotel.

The Food of Love

The restaurant is located directly on the beach and offers a tranquil ambiance whilst being surrounded by exuberant nature. The ample breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and can be enjoyed daily. Our a la carte offer for lunch and dinner consists of a mixed cuisine of international dishes and classic Costa Rican cuisine. For those who want to enjoy a romantic evening at moon light we provide candle light dinners also at the beach. Twice a week dinner is accompanied by live marimba music.
