Love at First Sight
The Royal Savoy's main building is a magnificent property from 1906 with Art Nouveau styling, surrounded by extensive gardens. This main building is complemented by a recently built modern one, part of a complete renovation project which included entirely refurbishing the original building. The hotel is in the compact Swiss city of Lausanne, a 5-minute walk from the shores of Lake Geneva which separates Switzerland from France. Many of the crowned heads of Europe have stayed at this hotel and the Spanish royal family made it their home during the Franco years of exile.

The Royal Savoy has 196 guestrooms and suites, with 101 in the historic main building and 95 in the Garden Wing. Guestrooms have contemporary decor and furnishings, come with luxury bathrooms and feature the latest technology.

The hotel's spa, set in a newly built contemporary building, includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools and eight treatment rooms. The spa offers a comprehensive range of beauty treatments and a variety of massage therapies. There's also a fully equipped fitness centre. Once you've explored the delightful Old Town, visit its imposing centrepiece, the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Building of this outstanding example of early Gothic architecture started in 1170 and lasted until the cathedral was consecrated in 1275. Pay a visit to the Flon neighbourhood where derelict warehouses have been transformed into a fashionable quarter that includes restaurants, bars, shops and art galleries. Just a few minutes' walk from the hotel is the Ouchy neighbourhood on the shores of Lake Geneva where pretty flower beds stretch for half a mile and you can see the Savoy Alps on the opposite side of the lake.
