Love at First Sight
Hotel Spik Alpine Wellness Resort is located among the stunning landscapes of the Julian Alps in the Slovenian village of Gozd Martuljek, near the popular resort town of Kranjska Gora. The hotel is in the northwest of Slovenia, near both the Austrian and Italian borders. Hotel Spik is set in a modern building with futuristic architecture built in 2009 and has mature pine forest to one side and on the other, sweeping views of the imposing 8,110 feet of Mount Spik with its needle-like summit.
Romance
In the winter couples can enjoy the glamour and excitement of downhill skiing, snowboarding and other winter sports before returning to the warmth of the hotel for cocktails and delicious food. In summer, you'll really be able to appreciate the natural beauty of the area, hiking along paths directly accessible from the hotel and discovering the magnificent Karavanke forest and Alpine meadows. You can even get married at the hotel where staff will help to arrange your special day, either in the hotel itself or outdoors on the adjacent meadow.

Guestrooms have stylish modern furnishings and muted decor in soothing tomes. Most have balconies and either enjoy forest or spectacular mountain views. In-room amenities include wifi, which is also available in the public areas.
What to Do
If you love active holidays together as a couple, then Hotel Spik is a great destination. In the summer, you can go hiking or mountain biking along the many trails near the hotel. In the winter, there's excellent skiing on nearby slopes. The hotel also has two squash courts, a volleyball court, a fitness centre and a counter-current swimming pool. If you're in the mood for relaxing, there's a beauty centre and a relaxation pool where you'll be massaged by jets of water. You can also use the hotel's Turkish sauna and massages are available.
The Food of Love
In the mornings, you can pop into the Hotel Spik's cafe for freshly brewed coffee and pastries. The hotel restaurant serves traditional Slovenian dishes and European cuisine to the accompaniment of live accordion music, and in the summer you can dine on the terrace with its superb Alpine views. The restaurant also offers a tempting selection of desserts including amaretto cake, yoghurt cake with blueberries and chocolate cake with pistachios.
