Love at First Sight
Located in the heart of Southern Iceland, surrounded by black sands, lava fields and glaciers you will find our cosy little guesthouse on top of a green hill called Hrifunes. This family run guesthouse has a personal and unique atmosphere, and is well known for its outstanding cuisine. Due to it´s location, driving to major sights of Southern Iceland such as Landmannalaugar, Fjadrargljufur canyon, Vatnajokull Glacier National Park and the Glacier Lagoon is very convenient and manageable. To the west of Hrifunes you can explore many spectacular sights such as the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, Dyrholaey Cape and the Skogafoss- and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls.

For couples that thrive on adventures, love to travel, hike and don't mind bad weather, our location in the heart of South Iceland might be the right choice. Our guesthouse is small, rustic, personal and cosy making it a perfect place/settings for groups of 20-30 persons.
Your Stay
Our guesthouse has 13 rooms (there of 10 with private bathroom facilities) and 1 deluxe fully equipped 85 sq m two bedroom apartment. The setting is beautiful and the view is stunning. Our old Willis Jeep sometimes plays a part in ceremonies and parties and our garage has been changed into a discotheque :-)
What to Do
Due to it´s location, driving to major sights of Southern Iceland such as Landmannalaugar, Fjadrargljufur canyon, Vatnajokull Glacier National Park and the Glacier Lagoon is very convenient and manageable. To the west of Hrifunes you can explore many spectacular sights such as the black sand beach at Reynisfjara, Dyrholaey Cape and the Skogafoss- and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. In our region you can visit Ice-caves, book a snow-scooter tour or go on glacier hike.
The Food of Love
Every evening, the communal dining area is the centre of the action at Hrifunes. We offer delicious home-cooked meals to our guests with emphasis on wild, free range, home grown, home made, seasonal & local food.
The set menu, features quality Icelandic ingredients such as fish, lamb and wild game. As we base our meals on local, seasonal ingredients, our set menu varies depending on the day and time of year – and sometimes on what we have hunted ourselves.
The food in Hrifunes is simple, honest and full of flavour. We offer menus that fits the occasion and like to work closely with our customers. We can provide alcoholic beverages but you can also bring your own drinks.
