Exclusive Hire Only - Izingwe Lodge is situated in Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, Limpopo Province, South Africa. Izingwe is the creation of world renowned Interior Architectural Designer, Dallas based, Trisha Wilson. The lodge sleeps a maximum of six guests and is only booked on an exclusive use basis. This guarantees a tailor-made safari experience as guests have the lodge and its facilities for their sole use. Situated in the 36,000-hectare, malaria free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve there are no limitations as can be affiliated with National Parks.
Welgevonden is home to the “Big 5” and often overlooked Cheetah.

Booking Izingwe Lodge on an exclusive use basis ensures an intimate, educational, and tailor-made safari. The schedule is determined by yourself and with no other guests there is no concern of conflicting interests. Your guide has full traversing rights across the entire 36,000 hectares. His passion for wildlife and conservation is infectious. Each safari is an interactive education in tracking, animal behaviour and bush interpretation. Game drives are included in the daily rate and there are no limitations to your safari experience. They may be day or night and any duration.

Your Stay

Izingwe Lodge is located in the Southern section of the Reserve which is predominantly grasslands and perennial wetlands supporting large herds of game. Longer adventures to the north are always popular where time is taken to enjoy a delicious bush picnic. It is recommended that guests book a minimum three night stay, as that allows for at least two full days to enjoy the safari experience.

What to Do

The Food of Love

Situated on a hillside with breathtaking views of the Waterberg Mountains, the main lodge has 6 huge, glass sliding, stacking doors facilitating the entire north facing front to open and incorporate the natural environment. The large open plan indoor/outdoor living and dining areas are an integral part of the experience. The three guest rooms each have a king-size bed and en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers. Each room has a private viewing deck and a luxurious day bed “sala” where guests can relax during the day while taking in the breathtaking views of the Waterberg.
Other facilities include an infinity pool at the main lodge; an outdoor “boma” dinner venue; a “hide” at the waterhole and a well-equipped fitness centre. For those who need connectivity, there is Wi-Fi in each guest room as well as at the Main Lodge.
