Gyrocopter Experience & Lakeland Tour
Come and stay at Leeming house and experience a flight in a Gyrocopter and tour in an area of outstanding natural beauty within a world heritage site. This is a fantastic opportunity to have a trial flying lesson in a Gyroplane,whilst flying through and over some of the most stunning countryside the UK has to offer. This includes the Lake District where we are based but also parts of the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria's beautiful Eden Valley and even Hadrian's Wall. You will experience the sheer thrill of taking control of the aircraft - with the knowledge that you will be flying with one of the Country's most experienced Gyrocopter pilots.You can fly in control for as much as little of the flight as you like,the choice is yours!.
The Experience begins. Be welcomed at Leeming House with an Arrival drink as you are shown to your luxurious feature room with balcony overlooking Ullswater lake, collect your Luxury picnic basket before setting off to the air strip 10 minutes down the road before your short introduction to the Gyrocopter experience, how the controls work - and an all important safety brief. Flying suits and helmets will be supplied. During the flight,all the controls will be demonstrated to you and you will then be invited to take the controls and fly the Gyrocopter - and if you're happy, it's 'yours' for the rest of the flight. (Obviously the aircraft has dual controls, so your instructor can take over at any time during the flight) then enjoy a picnic on the mountain side before returning to relax in front of the open fires and indulge in Luxury at Leeming House. Whether you want the experience the exhilaration of being in control, or you just want the instructor to fly for much of the time,leaving you free to take in the beautiful countryside around and even take some photos - it's entirely up to you!….this is definitely a flying lesson and experience with a difference!
The 30 minute Gyrocopter Experience Typically the route will include,after take off from Berrier,a flight toward Ullswater and Pooley Bridge,then over the Eden Valley to Appleby,returning via some of the pretty East Fellside villages and Penrith. Or, if conditions allow, fly a local Lakes experience to include both Ullswater and Derwanterwater. The 60 minute Gyrocopter Experience Typically,after take off from Berrier,head west toward Keswick, taking in Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite before heading out to the Cumbrian coast,to fly up the beaches toward Silloth and the Upper Solway Firth, before returning into the mountains via Caldbeck.
