Love at First Sight
Set in Colorado State amid the spectacular Rocky Mountains, the town of Telluride is the location of Lumiere, a luxury boutique hotel at an altitude of 9,540 feet, with residences attached. In the winter, you'll visit for the outstanding skiing and snowboarding, and in the summer you'll come for the hiking, the breathtaking scenery and the lively cultural life including film and music events. The hotel has an eye-catching style, best described as modern Swiss chalet, and the sleek interiors are a hymn to understated luxury.
Romance
The Lumiere offers a special romance package for couples, including a two-night stay in a one-bedroom residence, which comes with a deck offering incredible mountain views, and a $50 credit at the hotel's Little Bar. Other perks are a bottle of sparkling wine waiting in your room when you arrive and a one-hour massage for each of you. The Lumiere can also host your wedding and their staff will be happy to take care of every little detail to make sure your special day is perfect.
Your Stay
The hotel has only 11 guestrooms and 18 residences, some of which are one bedroom and so suitable for couples. The guestrooms have contemporary American furnishings and original artworks, and all come with Egyptian cotton sheets, smart TVs with Bluetooth sound bars and free wifi. Other amenities include kitchenettes, bathrobes and slippers. The one-bedroom residences feature large steam showers and deep tubs, separate living areas and full kitchens.
What to Do
You can order yoga and Pilates sessions in your room and a range of massages and beauty treatments are also available. The hotel has a fitness centre and there is an outdoor hot tub plus warm plunge and cold splash pools. The hotel has ski-in/ski-out facilities and they can arrange hire of all the equipment you'll need. In the summer, you can explore the beautiful countryside around Telluride and also visit events like the Mountainfilm Festival, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival or the Telluride Wine Festival. Other activities include riding, mountain biking, river rafting and paddle-boarding.
The Food of Love
Set in a stylish room with comfy sofas and a relaxed atmosphere, the Little Bar is the place to go for your après-ski in winter, or for delicious food and drinks all year round. Dishes on offer include grilled chorizo skewers, organic salmon rillettes and slow roasted half duckling with parsnip puree and dried cherry butter. If you've still got room, try the vanilla bean crème brûlée with caramel and candied nuts.
