The Palazzo is the ideal location for romantic wedding event, from the 17 century courtyard to the golden sandy beach, from panoramic terraces overlooking the Amalfi coast to romantic corners immersed in greenery. Our couples will be helped by our highly professional staff to make their time with us truly magical.
Palazzo Belmonte is a unique historic retreat still owned and managed by the family of the Prince of Belmonte, who lives in a private wing of the building. This elegant property nestles in an unspoiled corner south of the Amalfi Coast, one of the top Italian romantic destinations, bordering the characteristic little fishing village of Santa Maria di Castellabate.
The large, terraced areas in the park have magical views, offering an ideal location for an aperitif, wedding lunch or dinner and the cutting of the wedding cake. The panoramic marquee allows you to organize your wedding both inside and outside. The romantic courtyard covered in bougainvillea is a truly magical place to hold a civil ceremony.
Romance
When you enter the courtyard, you are transported back in time, where little has changed in 400 years. Originally built as the hunting lodge of the Princes of Belmonte, the Palazzo still conserves the atmosphere of a private dwelling. Romantic sunsets, the scent of its flowers, and the sound of the sea lapping against the shore make it an unforgettable setting for a proposal, honeymoon or wedding.
Wander through the gardens and soak up the atmosphere as the sun setts over the sea or enjoying a glass of champagne at the bar.
Enjoy a romantic boat trip along the coast and stopping off in beautiful bays for a swim. Alternatively have a romantic day trip to the island of Capri or wander the streets of Positano soaking up the atmosphere.
Why not have an exclusive gourmet lesson in making mozzarella cheese on our terrace overlooking the sea and tasting a selection of local wines.
Nearby is the medieval hamlet of Castellabate which is particularly magical at sunset, with breathtaking views across the bay. Stroll through the charming cobbled streets and then stop for a delicious ice cream in the square to round off our evening.
Your Stay
Within the original Palazzo you can stay in one of our luxury suites, with a private terrace and sea views. Alternatively, in the gardens you can find our more modern villas. These have lovely spacious rooms decorated in meditaranean style, with terraces.These rooms have either garden or sea views.
With prior notice we can arrange champagne in your room for your arrival and rose petals decorating your bed, with a handful for you to scatter in your bath. Tea lights can be lit to create a romantic atmosphere. If there is anything specific you would like, please let us know and we will do our utmost to arrange it. Palazzo guests can swim in the hotel’s swimming pool or in the sea, this latter accessed by way of a pretty pathway through the pine trees, hibiscus, and bougainvillea, which leads directly to the Palazzo’s sandy beach.
The hotel has 38 rooms and can accommodate up to 80 guests. The entire Palazzo may also be rented on an exclusive use basis. If you have a smaller intimate event, you can reserve specific areas for private use.
What to Do
Visit the medieval hamlet Castellabate, high on hill above the Palazzo. With its small, cobbled streets and breath-taking views we would highly recommend a visit. It was recently voted as one of the prettiest villages in Italy.
We can arrange romantic boat trips along the unspoilt coast, scuba diving lessons to explore the sunken ruins of a village at the Island of Licosa. Or alternatively a romantic picnic among the Alepo pines overlooking the sea.
Bicycles can be hired to wander through the unspoilt local area, or you can walk in the local hills.
In high season you can do a day trip to Capri and Positano going by hydrofoil. Alternatively you can have a romantic speed boad or helicopter ride.
The Food of Love
Why not have a romantic exclusive dinner for 2 with your own chef on our terrace overlooking the bay, with the twinkling lights of the Amalfi coast in the distance.
Alternatively for the more adventurous we can organise a decadent picnic made with local ingredients for you to enjoy either in in the surrounding hills or along the shore within the UNESCO national park of the Cilento. At the end of the day, relax in the bar with a delicious cocktail while the sun sets in the distance.
