Set on cliffs overlooking the ocean on the Caribbean paradise that is the island of Virgin Gorda, the third largest of the sixty or so British Virgin Islands, the Cliff Suites in Oil Nut Bay combine secluded luxury and unbridled romance. Each of the three suites are built into the cliffs that overlook the ocean, have private terraces and are a short stroll from a restaurant, swimming pools and a beautiful, white sandy beach. If you're looking for a romantic hideaway just for the two of you, this is just the place.
The romance starts with your arrival at Oil Nut Bay, since there are only two ways to reach your destination – by helicopter or by sea. Once there, you'll appreciate the extraordinary views and the stunning sunsets, which you can enjoy from the privacy of your own terrace. You'll wake up each morning to an uninterrupted vista of bright blue tropical sea and the sound of the ocean waves on the cliffs below. A few steps from your suite, there are three swimming pools, a restaurant and a perfect Caribbean beach.
The resort features one hilltop and two beachfront villas along with three suites which are set on the cliff face, while the penthouse, perches at the top of the cliffs. All of the villas and suites have a generously proportioned master bedroom, an outdoor infinity plunge pool and a Gaggia espresso machine. The Villas and the Penthouse Suite are even more spacious and feature a wraparound terrace and a full-size infinity pool.
Guests at the Cliff Suites have full access to the superb facilities of the Oil Nut Bay Beach Club and resort amenities. The Beach Club includes three swimming pools set in tropical gardens and surrounded by cabanas and terraces. Once you've soaked up enough rays on the beach, you can take part in yoga and Pilates sessions, use the fitness equipment at the wellness studio or order spa treatments at your suite. Private yoga classes are also available, including Hatha and Vinyasa Flow yoga disciplines.
The Beach Club Restaurant is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as all-day dining. Set in the Club's main building, a magical place with conical thatched roofing, the restaurant offers pizzas from a wood-fired oven for casual dining and a sophisticated take on Caribbean cuisine for more formal meals. Expect dishes like sugarcane skewered shrimp salad or pan seared red snapper with squid ink pasta. Wickedly tempting desserts include choices like frozen pina colada soufflé or double chocolate donuts.
