Love at First Sight

Inspired by the medicinal properties of the plant after which it is named, The Mandrake is a daring and unique hotel concept. Converted from a RIBA award-winning building on Newman Street, Fitzrovia, it opened in September 2017.

Here you will find eclectic, vibrant interiors combined with carefully curated artwork, intriguing soundscapes from sound engineer Pierre-Arnaud Alunni and specially designed Azzi Glasser scents that further create an ambience that is intimate and intriguing at every turn.

The overriding sensation is one of hedonistic fun with a hint of the surreal. Here open-minded spirits of wonder become part of an alternate reality, that allows them to shine, to celebrate life, to forget where they have come from and to escape into the haven that is The Mandrake.

Romance and seduction are at the heart of what The Mandrake does. From secret spots to tuck yourself and your loved one away in, through to the velvets and satins in our room, each touch is made with pleasure in mind.

We offer some of the most magical spaces in the city; from a marble penthouse to Jurema, our award-winning terrace and Waeska, our bar that has a menagerie of art pieces. Each is the perfect setting to invoke love.

We also pride ourselves on the level of service that we deliver, from our guest experience right through to creating events as special as you are, our team are really a thing of wonder.

Each of our rooms is unique and has hand-selected art in each. Our evergreen heart, Jurema, an award-winning outdoor space will make you feel in the depths of a jungle, not in Central London.

Every guest has a totally different experience with us, so we like to keep your minds open and your imaginations alive ahead of your stay.

What to Do

Within the hotel, you are able to take in our private art collection, experience our spiritual wellbeing program and in-room concierge service as well as wonder at whichever Artist in Residence will be in situ during your time with us.

Just outside our doors sits London's oldest streets. Wander through the vibrant Soho, take in a show in theaterland or even lose yourself in London's infamous museums; each walking distance from us.

The Food of Love

Fresh from South America and his journey through Argentina, Chile and Peru, Chef George Scott-Toft has created new menus at YOPO inspired by his travels.

From indigenous Amazonian ingredients to low-intervention Argentinian wines and traditional dishes perfected over generations, it was an educational feast of culture and cuisine.

Exporting the flavours of Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima and bringing them to London, we are delighted to share our tables at YOPO with you.
