Operation Anthropoid WW2 tour with Lidice village

Embark on a profound 7-hour journey through Prague’s WWII history with this tour dedicated to Operation Anthropoid and the Czechoslovak resistance. Led by a knowledgeable guide, this extended exploration takes you to significant wartime locations, starting with Lidice village, tragically destroyed by Nazi forces in retaliation for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. You’ll visit the museum and memorial in Lidice, where the village’s story is told. The tour also includes a stop at Ďáblice cemetery, where victims of WWII and Communist oppression are buried in mass graves, and the Kobylisy shooting range, where resistance members were executed by the Nazis. At Heydrich’s Curve, you’ll stand at the exact location where Heydrich was assassinated in 1942. Additional stops include the “Girl with Bicycle” monument honoring a teenage resistance supporter, and St. Cyril and Methodius Cathedral, where Heydrich’s assassins made their last stand. The tour concludes with a visit to the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror, including a tour of the infamous crypt where the final battle took place. With a blend of walking and driving, and a traditional Czech meal near Ďáblice cemetery, this tour offers a deeper dive into one of the most significant acts of resistance in WWII history.
