Rajasthan - A Honeymoon Getaway

Day 1: Arrive Delhi. On arrival you are greeted at the Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport and driven to your pre booked hotel.

Delhi the capital city of India is a city built and rebuilt seven times over several centuries. The capital city today marries the quaint and unique elements of different historical eras with the pace of the bustling, growing economy. At every turn of the road, the past and the present coexist. Balance day is at leisure. Overnight stay (Room Check -in 1400 hrs)

Day 2: Delhi Morning after breakfast the day is reserved for Half day guided city tour of New Delhi. The buildings designed by Edward Lutyens, architect of modern Delhi are truly majestic. The Presidential Palace, Parliament House and India Gate are all reminiscent of the British “Raj”. Drive through, Delhi’s beautiful tree lined avenues and the Diplomatic Enclave en-route to the 12th century, 234 foot high fluted minaret of Qutab Minar. Also visit the Humayun's tomb. If time permits we will try & squeeze in a visit to Lotus Temple. Break for lunch.

Afternoon proceed for half day guided city tour of Old Delhi. Drive past the magnificent Red Fort, built at the zenith of the Mughal Empire in India. The centuries- old international market-place that sprawls at its feet is still one of Delhi’s most important commercial hubs: Chandni Chowk, or “Moonlight Square”. Walk through the bustling silver market and the wholesale spice market. The sounds, smells and colors of the bazaar, and the throngs of people who animate it makes this an unforgettable spectacle. Visit Jumma Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia. Your tour terminates with a visit to Rajghat – final resting memorial of the Father of the nation-Mahatma Gandhi before returning to hotel for overnight stay. Includes (B)

Day 3:Delhi –Agra Morning after breakfast, depart by surface for the Mughal splendor of Agra. A 3.5 hour’s drive gets us to this fascinating historically rich city of the Taj Mahal. Later on arrival in Agra, check-in to your pre booked hotel.

After fresh & change proceed on a guided city tour visiting the Agra Fort which lies across river Yamuna and which abode attractive constructions such as Pearl Mosque, Jahangir Mahal, Di wan-i-Khas, Di wan-i- Am and more. It was here that Aurangzeb the 3rd son of Shah Jahan kept his father under house arrest until his death.

Early Evening is reserved for a visit the incomparable Taj Mahal. An architectural love letter, this massive marble temple in northern India is one of the most recognizable structures on the planet. Situated on the banks of river Yamuna, the monumental beauty has inspired countless people around the world and is a fine example of fusion of many architectural styles. It is one of the wonders of the modern world. Built in the year 1652, by Emperor Shah Jahan to immortalize the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died tragically in 1631. It took 22 years and 20,000 skilled artisans to complete this poem in white marble. Witness sunset, before returning to hotel for Overnight stay. Includes (B)

Day 4: Agra –Fatehpur Sikri –Jaipur Morning after early breakfast, depart by surface for the City of Jaipur - an exuberance of color, dance and song with traditional arts and crafts. Known as the 'Pink City' it is one of India's most well planned cities with wide straight avenues, roads, streets and lanes in a grid system. A 5.5 hours’ drive gets us to this land of Maharajah's, forts and Palaces and diversity of colors and culture, which is unique to the State of Rajasthan.

En-route halts for a guided tour of Fatehpur Sikri, the ghost city lying 35 km from Agra. Fatehpur Sikri built in red sandstone in honor of Saint Salim Chisti, who foretold the birth of 3 sons to Emperor Akbar, is an example of robust stability combined with originality. Each important edifice here represents a type by itself. Notable among them is the Diwan- e- Khas, Punch Mahal, the Tomb of Salim Chisti, and the Buland Darwaza. Continue your drive to Jaipur and on arrival check-in to your pre booked hotel.

Afternoon is reserved for guided sightseeing tour of the City Palace situated in the heart of the old City, it occupies about one seventh of the old city area. The City Palace SMS Museum displaying a collection of clothes, armory & weapons located within the premises of the City Palace and Jai Singh's observatory also called “Jantar Mantar” built in the18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, where the huge Masonry instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and Stars in the sky.

Drive past Hawa Mahal (Palace of winds) built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. The 5 storied stunning Semi-octagonal monument having 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. Originally designed for the royal ladies to watch and enjoy the processions and other activities, on the street below. Stop here for photos, before continuing on to Albert Hall Museum, located in the premises of Ram Niwas Garden. Its Ind-Saracenic architecture and stone ornamentation became a source of reference for varied classical Indian styles of design from Mughals to Rajputs.

The foundation stone of Albert Hall was laid during the visit of the Prince of Wales, Albert Edward to Jaipur in 1876 and was completed in 1887. Return to your hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel. Includes (B)

Day 5 -Jaipur -Udaipur (flight) Morning after breakfast, complete check out formalities and proceed for half day guided excursion to see one of the most impressive forts of Rajasthan. The 16th century Amber Fort, the former capital of the Royal Family of Jaipur. An exotic elephant ride (subject to availability. Otherwise Jeeps/car will be used) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll experience a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. It is a deserted palace surrounded by majestic ramparts and the magnificent public & private room's evidence the splendor of the rulers of 16th & 17th century Rajasthan.

Afternoon on time, transfer to Jaipur domestic airport to board flight at 1610 hrs for Udaipur. On arrival at 1705 hrs, meeting, assistance and transfer to your pre booked hotel. Evening is at leisure. Overnight stay. Includes (B)

Day 6 -Udaipur : Morning after breakfast, proceed for a full day guided excursion to Haldighati, 40 Km from Udaipur a site of immense historic interests as the memorable battle between Maharana Pratap & Mughal Emperor Akbar was fought here in 1576 AD. The Rana was badly wounded and defeated while his faithful horse Chetek died while crossing the moat. A memorial pillar has been set up here to honor the Royal horse.

Next visit the ancient temples of Nagda, the first capital of Bappa Rawal. See the magnificent Tirana exquisitely carved with graceful Asparas and the Sas- Bahu Temple sphere built in 10th century AD. You finish your morning tour with a visit to the temple shrine of Nathdwara built in 17th century AD dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is one of the most celebrated of the Vaishnavas shrines.

Evening transfer to the boat jetty to enjoy a 45 minute common boat ride on lake Pichola visiting Gangaur Ghat, small islands inhabited by migratory birds, and the Jag Mandir Palace, where Shah Jahan (Mughal Emperor who built the Taj Mahal) stayed for a while during his exile. Enjoy sunset before returning back to hotel for overnight stay (B)

Day 7: Udaipur : Morning after breakfast proceed for half day city sightseeing tour visiting the City Palace, Here you will marvel at rooms with mirrored walls and ivory doors, colored glass windows and inlaid marble balconies and the Peacock Courtyard. Visit the 300-year-old Jagdish Temple and the Royal Cenotaphs of the Rajput kings followed by Sahel ion-Ki-Bagh, Fateh Sagar Lake, Pratap Smarak & the Sajjan Niwas Gardens and Sajjangarh, also called Monsoon Palace, a fortified palace atop a steep hill, overlooking the city of Udaipur, providing magnificent views of the lakes and palaces of Udaipur. Return to hotel.(You a have the option of going to a city restaurant for Lunch)

Day 8: Udaipur - Delhi Morning after a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Udaipur airport to board flight 6E 2315 at 1410 hrs for Delhi. On arrival at 1520 hrs at Delhi transfer to International airport to connect flight for your onward journey. (No Accommodation foreseen) Includes (B)

C'MORE "The Company" accepts bookings subject following conditions: On confirmation of the programme from the " Company " a deposit equal to 50% (fifty) of the contracted value of the tour price is required to be sent directly to the "Company's" bankers, vide swift transfer/ credit card with a confirmation copy of the same to the "Company's " headquarters, at New Delhi. The balance of the contracted value 50% (Fifty) shall be paid not less than 35 days before commencement of tour OR a deposit of 100% (Hundred) is required 35 days before commencement of tour.

Please note for FIT and GROUP Travel, Fair period, Luxury Resorts,Luxury Train holidays & during Peak season (October to March) 100% (Hundred) is required minimum 90 days prior to travel date.

CANCELLATIONS: Travel dates may be changed up to 35 days prior to travel without penalty. An administration charge of 10% will be charged, if a confirmed booking is changed or transferred up to 35 days before commencement of the tour. After this time all changes will be treated as cancellation and will be subject to the charges mentioned below. Cancellation charges are calculated from the day, written acceptance of confirmation along with deposit is received by the “Company” and expressed herewith as a percentage of the total tour price including surcharge as follows:
