Siena and San Gimignano: a journey through time

Today you will experience a fascinating journey into the heart of Tuscany, accompanied by a local guide and a private driver. Together you will explore 2 medieval hilltop towns: Siena and San Gimignano, an enthralling journey back in time.

In the morning you will reach Siena, a jewel of medieval art and more, where you will be able to admire the splendid gothic cathedral, decorated with polychrome local marble, which houses masterpieces by Michelangelo, Donatello and Bernini, the headquarters of Monte dei Paschi, the oldest bank in the world still in business, you will get lost in the narrow streets of the center and then find yourself in the great Piazza del Campo, considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world, famous for the Palio, the exciting horse race that takes place here every year on July 2 and August 16.

After a tasty lunch break you will move to San Gimignano, famous for its medieval towers, still preserved after more than 900 years. You will pass through Porta San Giovanni, to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of medieval architecture, and reach the central squares of the Cisterna and the Duomo, where the Collegiate Church stands out, with its splendid 14th century frescoes by Sienese painters. You will have the opportunity to stop in picturesque locations, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the Chianti hills. For wine lovers, during the visit it will be possible to taste a glass of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the characteristic white wine of the area.
