Mekong Cruises offers two unique and unforgettable cruises on the Mekong River in Laos. Your Stay

The Luang Say boats are 34 metres long with a capacity for 40 people seated comfortably. Each seat has an open air vista allowing you to watch the world go by as the journey passes, along with a French and English speaking guide, and an area with coffee tables, magazines and more for relaxation along the trip. If you opt for the Luang Say Cruises, you will stop off at the Luang Say Lodge in Pakbeng and the Luang Say Residence overnight. The Luang Say Lodge offers 20 large bungalows in traditional Laotian design, situated on four hectares of luscious land. The Luang Say Residence is a five-star boutique hotel set amidst tropical gardens with surrounding picturesque mountain views. The hotel offers intimate suite accommodation, luxury amenities and a stunning tropical setting. The Vat Phou Cruise boat functions as a fully-fledged luxury floating hotel, so no overnight stopover will be needed. The boat boasts 12 comfortable twin shared cabins with air conditioning, a fan and a private bathroom with western style toilet and hot shower.

What to Do

Cruises along the Mekong river pass by inhabited islands, fascinating wildlife and historical ruins. En route, you will come across a whole range of attractions including the largest of the area’s islands – Khong Island – the birthplace of the President of the Peoples Republic of Laos, and the Vat Phou ruins which are nestled at the base of a stunning 1400 metre forest-covered mountain.

The Food of Love

Every day at noon on the Luang Say Cruise, the boat staff will serve you a buffet lunch, comprised of carefully prepared Laotian cuisine. Throughout the journey the boat also has complimentary water and hot drinks on offer, along with a bar serving beers, wine, spirits and more, and the guests can enjoy dinner and breakfast each day in the hotel stop-offs. The Vat Phou boat serves all meals to guests on an all-inclusive basis. You can enjoy a fusion of Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai cuisines, all lovingly prepared and beautifully presented. Breakfast and lunch are usually enjoyed on the upstairs deck so that guests can absorb the stunning surroundings whilst dining, and in the evenings, dinner is served in an air-conditioned room downstairs.
